Tomorrow from 12 noon, Jermyn Street in nearby Piccadilly will be the site

The Art of Being British
for The Art of Being British. The Crown Estate and Jermyn Street Association
will be hosting a garden party, celebrating English eccentricity and showcasing
many of the unique, specialist retailers and restaurants that are grouped in St
James’s.
On display for visitor will be a Rolls Royce Phantom on loan from The Ritz,
while musicians from the Royal Academy of Music will be performing British
classical, jazz and theatre tunes live on the street. There will also be a
church market, puppet show, hog roast, sports car display and an area dedicated
to the art of storytelling and if that wasnlt enough, shoppers will be pleased
to hear that there will be a unique selection of added-value incentives only
available on the day by the retailers of St James's.
Four unique men's and women's catwalk fashion shows will take
place, accompanied by displays and demonstrations from many of the famous
retailers in St James's including those from the revered hat, shirt, suit and
shoemaking fraternity. Exhibitors include Fosters & Son, Church's, T M
Lewin, Hawes & Curtis, Hilditch & Key and Favourbrook as well as
Dukes, Fortnum & Mason, Paxton and Whitfield and The Ritz — all of which
will showcase their quality craftsmanship and key signature services.
Cheese experts Paxton and Whitfield will be tempting shoppers with delicious
British cheeses and their wide range of delectable accompaniments along with
specialist food and wine. Dukes will demonstrate how to mix the perfect Martini
while Berry Brothers and Rudd will be offering blind tasting with a chance to
win a bottle of champagne.
St. James's also offers the discerning shopper a fabulous selection of
cafes, bars and restaurants including Franco's, Getti, Green's, Quaglino's,
Petrichor at The Cavendish, Fortnum & Mason, Rowley's, Sofitel St James,
The Ritz, Wiltons and The Avenue.
