Hi All - I love Soho but get seriously annoyed anytime by the fact that Old Compton Street is not pedestrian only and that sidewalks on Brewer Street are so narrow! I am sure I am not the first one to think about taking action here... just wondering what could be done. A new petition with the council? (I do realise that taxidriver's lobby reversed an attempt to make OCS pedestrian a while ago). I think we should try again!! Any thoughts much appreciated!
Hi Stephan! You share a common view with so many of the Sohopeople users, many of which would like to see much of Soho pedestrianised, but Old Compton Street free of vehicles at the very least. Have you seen this website? http://tinyurl.com/3v3x8g8
Any action, petitions or thoughts you have, let us know!
Hi Lisa, many thanks for your reply. I didn't know about this website... very interesting! I am definitely planning to launch an online petition with the council, but am first trying to see how I can best reach a maximum amount of people beforehand to get them to sign it! I will post it on this website when it's ready for sure. If you know of any other websites, facebook pages, etc which could help please let me know! Thanks, Stephan
I think an online petition is a great start. If you get it up on the site, we could start circulating it and get it some exposure. Have you thought about writing a piece stating your case, perhaps with some pictures? You could upload it here and give the petition something to hang from. Keep us in the loop Stephan!
I'd sign it. I'm sick of nearly being hit by taxis. Soho wasn't designed for that level of traffic. The whole area should be pedestrianised.
