the early hours of this morning.
Police officers cordoned off Wardour Street to arrest key individuals
and searched a number of addresses, from around 1am.
Five men and four women were arrested for supplying class
A drugs in Soho, and another man was arrested for going equipped to
commit a crime.
All ten, aged 24 to 51.were taken to a central London police station.
Superintendent Adam Loxley said: "This operation sends out a very
clear message. Street based drug dealing in Soho will not be tolerated
by the police and we will continue to tackle the problem head on.
"With the full support of the local community and Westminster City
Council, we are confident that we are making a sustained impact against
drug dealing in Soho."
This latest operation is one of a series of initiatives aimed at
tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.
The initiatives have been rolled out during the summer and will
continue in the area over the coming months.
